My house is slowly turning into a lab. A Raspberry Pi runs Home Assistant to tie together lights, plugs, the air conditioning, and my solar inverter; an ESP32 screen shows live energy data; and a couple of AI agents do the plumbing I never learned to code. Every automation and integration in it was built without me writing a single line of code, and that, more than the gadgets, is the part I find worth writing about.

Home Lab is the umbrella project for all of this. Its pieces include the Home Hub app (the phone interface for finances, the weekly menu, and the dog’s medication), plus the Raspberry Pi controls, the solar setup, the retro-gaming library, and the rest of the house automations.
